Dr Andrew Duncan grew up in Adelaide. After obtaining a Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree at Adelaide University, he moved to Perth to study Veterinary Science at Murdoch University, where he met Claire. After graduating in 1987, he moved back to Adelaide and worked in a small animal metropolitan practice for 5 years. Together with Claire, they established the Rose Park Veterinary Surgery in 1992. Andrew enjoys all aspects of veterinary work and has special interests in consulting and general surgery. Outside of work Andrew is a keen bike rider, enjoying in particular riding through the Adelaide Hills.
Dr Claire Duncan grew up in Perth and studied Veterinary Science at Murdoch University. She graduated in 1988 and moved to Adelaide the following year and worked in two metropolitan small animal practices for 5 years before establishing Rose Park Veterinary Surgery. She spends her time divided between the surgery, their 4 adult children, Meals on Wheels and the Norwood Swimming Club. The house is completed with Wally the Griffon Bruxellois, Louie the Cavoodle, and Hamish the Burmese cat. Claire no longer consults but spends her time in the surgical suit, specialising in soft tissue surgery.
"Dr Hamish Burns joined the Rose Park Veterinary clinic 2017. He is professional, knowledgeable and can often be found cuddling one of the hospital patients as he types up his notes. Hamish is committed to ensuring our clinic provides the best care possible for our patients and best experience for our pet owners. At home Hamish has a labradoodle called Flea. He is a bouncy bundle of energy giving him a large resemblance to the Red Hot Chilli’s bass guitarist, his namesake. In his spare time, Hamish lives an active lifestyle and enjoys getting out of town with any opportunity. You can find him cycling, diving, or gardening in his down time. "
Dr Craig Toyer originally hails from Sydney and studied Veterinary Science at Sydney University. After graduating in 2002, he moved to Adelaide and worked for 5 years in various Adelaide metropolitan small animal practices. He joined Rose Park in 2007. Craig is married to Kylie -and they have 2 daughters Brooke and Gemma. Their household is currently ruled by 'Shadow' the cat. The newest member of his family is young ‘Asha’, a very cuddly little Cavoodle who is adored by all of the humans, and well tolerated by Shadow.
Craig has special interests in canine and feline medicine and dentistry. Outside of work, Craig enjoys cooking, wine, soccer and golf.
Dr Ella graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2019. After graduating Ella worked in two small animal general practice clinics in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. In 2022, Ella joined the team at Rose Park. Ella enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, in particular internal medicine and is passionate about ensuring a high standard of individualised care for both her patients and their owners. When not at work, Ella enjoys camping, spending her time with her family, friends and of course her crazy Kelpie - Frank (pictured).
Jac grew up in Malaysia, she moved to Adelaide in 2013 to pursue her veterinary degree at University of Adelaide. Jac graduated in 2019 and her previous role was practicing in a small animal general practice in Port Adelaide and an animal shelter in Wingfield. She joined Rose Park in 2023 to focus on general practice medicine. Her veterinary interests are feline medicine and soft tissue surgery, she would like to expand her skills and knowledge into doing all types of surgeries. Coming from a multicultural country, she is able to speak Mandarin, English and Malay fluently. During her time off, she likes to go hiking, going on road trips and travelling with her partner. She is looking forward to seeing you and your pets!
Kiri grew up in Surrey, England where she spent her childhood and early adulthood riding and eventing horses. She moved to Australia in 2011 living in Perth and then the Sunshine Coast, finally settling in Adelaide with her husband. Kiri has a Diploma in Practice Management and joins us with a multitude of experience working in this area. Kiri also has a keen interest in canine nutrition. Her two young sons keep her busy, but in her spare time she enjoys volunteering for St John Ambulance SA and working on her vegetable patch.
Kath grew up in Adelaide and has been vet nursing since 2001 and joined Rose Park in 2004. After volunteering at the fauna centre, while she studied at the University of South Australia, Kath knew she wanted to work with animals. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing but her main interests are nursing ward patients and surgery. At home, Kath loves spending time with her husband Robbie and her young son, Hamish and also, her Budgerigars, Pickle and Russell (pictured) and Maple Mc Syrup, the previous clinic cockatiel. Kath enjoys going to the beach with her family and travelling. She also enjoys a good cup of coffee!
Jaimee grew up in Adelaide and has been passionate about animals since she was little. Jaimee completed Certificate III in Companion Animal Services in 2019 and is currently studying Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. At home, Jaimee has an American Staffordshire Terrier named Terra (pictured), as well as two cats named Floki and Esmè. In her spare time she enjoys taking Terra for walks along the beach and spending time with her partner and family.
Rachel was born in England and came to Australia in 2006. She has always been passionate about animal welfare and is an advocate on enrichment. She has worked at the RSPCA for over 3 years and has completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Rachel is eager to help care for any animal whether it’s small or large. She doesn’t have a pet of her own just quite yet but she is lucky enough to be around some gorgeous companions on a daily basis. (pictured with lovely Buffy). In her spare time she enjoys beach adventures, river vacations and having the occasional lazy day at home to relax with a cup of green tea!
Kate grew up on acreage in the Adelaide Hills, and is completing a Bachelor of Veterinary Bioscience degree, commencing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2023. Kate joined the Rose Park team in February 2022. She grew up with a multitude of animals including alpacas, sheep, cattle, rabbits, chickens and cats. Outside of the clinic or her university classes you will find her training or playing AFL football, coaching rowing for Seymour College, swimming at the beach or hanging out with her Golden Labrador, Walter.
Jesica grew up in Adelaide and spent her childhood loving the company of her furry companions who inspired her to pursue a career in the animal industry. Jesica graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology degree in 2024. When she is not working Jes loves exploring the Adelaide hills, finding new walking trails and fun cafes to enjoy a good coffee.
Eloise grew up in Adelaide and holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Eloise joined the Rose Park team in January 2024. At home, Eloise lives with her Border Collie named Beetle and in her spare time she enjoys hanging out with family & friends, doing Jigsaw Puzzles and Lego
Mackenzie grew up in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology degree in 2024. She has a great deal of experience with wildlife, having done volunteering and placements at Barossa Wildlife Rescue, Gorge Wildlife Park and Adelaide Zoo. When she isn’t working at Rose Park Vet, you can find her hanging out with more Australian wildlife at her other position with Cleland Wildlife Park. In her spare time Mackenzie loves to hang out with friends and family, caring for orphaned or injured native animals, or finding a new baking recipe to try.
Originally from mid Wales, Dora left the UK in 2017 after finishing university and spent the next few years travelling. In 2020 she landed in Perth and completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Once finishing she moved to Adelaide where she has been working as a Vet Nurse. Dora joined the Rose Park team in June 2024. From a young age, Dora has always had a keen passion and interest in animals, and although no current pets of her own, she will always give love and care to your pets when they come to visit. In her spare time, Dora can be found anywhere outdoors and is always up for an adventure. Dora has been playing hockey for the past 17 years and is currently a member of the Adelaide University Hockey Club.
Lauren grew up in Adelaide and has always had a passion for animals since she was a little girl. Lauren is currently studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology at the University of Adelaide. When Lauren isn't at work or University she enjoys spending time with her friends, family and of course her pets.
Tilly grew up in Essex, England for the first 13 years of her life before moving in 2008 with her parents to Adelaide. Tilly has always had a strong interest in animals, completing an Undergraduate Degree in Animal Behaviour and volunteering with the South Australian Museum at their mammal facility in Bolivar. Tilly started at Rose Park Vet in January 2023 new to the vet industry but with considerable experience in retail, hospitality and council ranger work, she has strong customer service skills and loves to make each pet's visit as easy as possible. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, lead lighting, sitting down with a cup of tea and a book and spending as much time with the family dog, Cyrus, as she can.
Jade grew up in Adelaide and now enjoys living amongst her five pet household. Growing up in the Adelaide hills, Jade was surrounded by horses, pony’s sheep, goats, and of course, dogs. Over Jade’s career she has worked as a dog groomer, dog walker, doggy daycare and kennel attendant. Outside the clinic Jade enjoys going for long walks with her dog, hills drives, camping, and watching movies.
